"It hurts here." How long has it hurt? "Oh, I don't know."
In making precision our goal, we can teach ourselves mental rigor.
We can wake up.
We can learn the practice of paying attention to our bodies and our surroundings.
What is really happening here?
We actually do know when it started hurting.
We just aren't as skilled in accessing our memories.
We don't know yet how to focus our attention like a beam.
I've found the precise focus of attention is a skill that can be learned.
And it starts by quieting the mind.
Only when the chatter is turned down can we see truly.
