Storing energy in the extended rubber
It flies through the air with great speed and force upon release
The stored energy expended
Jumping on a wooden trampoline to launch over a vault
The gymnast compresses the spring with her jump
And it launches her high in the air as the spring decompresses
The spring energy expended
Elastic tissue stores energy for later release
It's part of being flexible
Nourishing the tissue with good food and movement
Keeps it pliable and resilient
In the same way, our spirits can be like a rubber band
Circumstances stretch us or squash us
And we can store that force and bounce back
Launching the impediments into the air
