Not an empowering story to tell oneself. A story of the oppressed.
Or perhaps a story about being too small to stop the destruction of our living planet.
Whether it is true or not, it will become true if we keep feeding the story. Embellishing it. Making it real.
For myself, every time I travel to the store or my work I pass huge swaths of denuded desert.
Ever-growing. What is happening to my world?
I have become even more afraid to leave my home. It hurts my heart to see the devastation.
Where will the bobcat, coyote, mountain lion live?
I have decided to rewrite my story. I am not powerless to stop this destruction. I can do something.
The climate crisis is an emergency. Let's not wait until it is too late to act.
